A Running Sheet is a printed sheet taken from the printing press at the start of the print run to check that the machine is printing correctly. It's used to check colour balance and registration.
Depending on the quality of the artwork, colour densities, type of paper and ink coverage it could take between 100 and 250 sheets to get the item printing correctly.
Some of these sheets could be delivered with the job - but they are 'overs' and are not included in the final print count.
Printing professionals use these sheets to set up any ancillary equipment such as folding, perforating and creasing machines. |
